THEY DON’T KNOW IT’S CHRISTMAS…
HELP US SAVE MORE LIVES FROM NIS KILL STATION ON CHRISTMAS DAY!
On Christmas Eve they will be killed. Every warm paw will be cold. Every beating heart stopped, every breath ended… unless You change their outcome!
These dogs are due to die on Christmas eve at the Nis kill shelter. Their beating heart stopped. Their last breath cut short from a violent brutal death, their end.
Look into their eyes. Have a heart this Christmas, save a life. A life that is doomed to die.
This is not scaremongering, this is a fact. This is how the dogs are disposed of at Nis kill shelter. You can change the outcome. The power is in your hands.
YOU CAN TURN AND WALK AWAY, YOU CAN FLICK THE FB PAGE AND PRETEND YOU NEVER SAW IT. YOU CAN SLEEP WELL SAFE IN THE KNOWLEDGE YOUR OWN DOG IS SAFE. BUT IT’S NOT THE SAME FOR THESE ONES…
On Christmas Eve they will be killed. Every warm paw will be cold. Every beating heart stopped, every breath ended.
We want to take every single dog from this hell and place them in our care in our rescue…
BUT, WE CAN ONLY DO THIS IF YOU DON’T TURN AWAY.
What’s the price of a life?
TO SAVE A LIFE
WHATEVER YOU CAN AFFORD
***PLEASE HELP US , HELP OUR DOGS , THEY DO NOT DESERVE TO BE SAVED AND END ON THIS WAY***
Please can you help us? Three of the dogs who were taken from Nis kill shelter on 16th November, have been diagnosed with early distemper. We have given them all the canglob serums, that we now need to pay 231 euros. But, sadly that’s not enough. They need more.
Each serum costs 33 euros. And each dog infected is going to need at least 5-10 more each. But, serums are just one part of the therapy. Each infected dog needs daily IV’s, antibiotic shots and vitamins.
Bad news never travel alone, at this moment we have 3 who were tested positive, which means others are incubating and need therapy as well.
We are desperate. Absolutely desperate to get them the help they need. Taffy, Billy, and Mercy all have distemper. Its tough to say if theyre gonna make it or not. But we must do absolutely everything to save them. We did not rescue them to die on us. We need to be able to provide everything they need to help them fight this horrible sickness.
Without Canglob they will die, thats a cert. Canglob is their only hope, their only chance. Please help us to buy more to save their lives.
Donations to: PAYPAL email@example.com or please write us if you want to send a check;
We look into their desperate little eyes, and now theyre safe, its like they know. They soooo want to live. Please help us make this miracle happen by donating to cover canglob serums.
Please mark your donation CANGLOB SERUM. Thank you so so so much. Together, we can win. We can. Please believe it and help us to help them.

***LACEY LIVED IN 2 M2 CHAINED***
This is the very very sweet and gentle terrier mix breed girl that is Lacey. She was rescued just this week, 25/10/2016, with her Mum, and both were being kept in horrific conditions on a short chain with no life or love. Lacey is approx. 1 year to 18 months old and she has only ever known life on that chain. The poor dog is so friendly, and loving and just adores being around people, especially children, as you can see from her photos. She is now safe in our care and she will be looking for a forever home very soon, once shes completed all her health checks and had all her vaccinations. Lacey loves other dogs too. She is very gentle indeed, and very placid and calm. She adores affection, and would make such a lovely addition to any family, with or without children. Laceys mum is in bad condition and needs surgery, but thankfully Lacey is well and in good health, other than being very badly malnourished, which we will of course take care of. In no time at all she will be healthy and bouncing around and ready for loving home. Lacey is very kindly named and sponsored by the wonderful Sue C Sparrowhawk who covers her board and food payments in kennels each month. Thank you so very much to the lovely Sue who was so compassionate enough to want to sponsor Lacey. It means it keeps her safe in our care until we can find that loving forever home for her. Please share to help Lacey find a home. <3 <3 <3
This is the poor Mommy dog (terrier, Yorkie style) who ha a terrible open wound on her back, who was literally taken awa,y with her daughter from their so called owners. Even badly injured, Mommy dog and her little daughter had to live on chains all their life. No let up, no love, just kept on a chain, allowed to become matted, dirty, filthy, and sick. And never taken to the vet.
This little sweet pea is now named Victoria and her daughter named Lacey. Both now safe in our care until we can find loving forever homes for them. Gorgeous Victoria is so gentle, so trusting and so loving. She gets on really well with all other dogs and its pretty much indifferent to the cats in our kennels. She would make such a wonderful loving family pet. Now she has completed her surgery she is healing and we anticipate she will be ready for adoption in January 2017. Such a perfectly little dolly is this one. She is only approx.2-3 years old and just so so sweet. Please consider offering gorgeous Victoria a loving forever home. She would reward you with such love in return. <3 <3 <3
This darling darling little girl. Rescued from the street, having been beaten and abandoned and left to die. She has a spinal injury which we are working hard with the vets to diagnose and correct with surgery. She has a long way to go to be able to use her back legs again but this injury. She is a gentle girl, gets on very well with all other dogs she meets in our care, and she is very very affectionate and loving. She will eventually make an ideal family pet, but we must concentrate first on her diagnosis, and surgery to give her the very best chance of surivival and future mobility. We will update Pearls album over the coming weeks to ensure we keep you all informed about what her long term prognosis is, and what surgery can be done to help her to regain the use of her back lets. We absolutely will not give up this little girl. She is so strong, so tough, so sweet. She deserves every chance available to her to be healed and a loving home found in the long term. Thank you for caring and sharing our Pearls album. Shes a littlepearl is this one. <3 <3 <3 we will ensure that she gets every opportunity to be healed. We are so grateful to Lesley for sponsor Pearl to keep her safe in our care each month until we can cure her of her condition and find her a wonderful forever loving home. Pearl is amazing. So so so resilient, such a survivor. We estimate she is around 8 weeks old, and we believe somebody has beaten her or kicked her on her back (spine) which has caused a paralysis.
UPDATE ON SWEET PEARL PUPPY: Well we managed to raise enough with the help of some utterly amazing people whom we have thanked personally on message and e mail, to get the MRI scan that little Pearlneeded. The prognosis is more promising for her now. She is eating well, and trying hard to walk again. She is getting better each day with the help of daily physiotherapy, and we are starting to see improvements already. The vet believes that she will walk again with intensive physio and that the haematoma and cyst on her spine, from the injury she sustained, who knows how or what from, but we believe she was probably kicked or beaten to end up like this, will dissipate back into her body and with the continue physio she will walk again. She is by no means cured, this still has a long way to go, but she is in less pain now and is really responding so so well to her exercises and physio massages etc. The future is now looking so so much brighter for sweet little Pearl, thanks to so many lovely people who cared about her. We are so so grateful to you all. We could not have helped her without your kindness and compassion to help cover her fees at the vets for the expensive MRI and phsiotherapy, which is still ongoing and will be, or some time to come. THANK YOU, FROM PEARL AND THE HPD CREW. Thank you. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx <3
***OUR 56 RESCUED DOGS SUFFER FROM SKIN ALLERGIES, WET AND DRY ECZEMA, DEMODEX, MITES AND MANGE***
Funds desperately needed for their treatment
Do you have a dog? How often do you flea them? Every 3 months? Every 4 weeks? What if they were suffering from a skin condition and you couldn’t do anything to help – What would you do????
Here at Help Pozega Dogs we are critically desperate for your help to treat our rescued dogs from Skin Allergies on Fleas – Wet and Dry Eczema – Demodex – Mites and Mange.
We have NO funds and are struggling to help 56 dogs, we rescued during last 2 months, but we still have 40 more rescued previously. We are already short on money to cover the food bills, but now after rescuing them we suffer watching them suffer… we are unable to give them all the required treatment.
We are absolutely desperate for donations for: 1) Anti flea treatment – 2) Amitraz for Demodex mites – 3) Ivermectine shots and 4) Antibacterial shampoos and antibiotics.
Some of our dogs are not coping because they need this treatment and we literally cannot cover the costs of paying for it all. We are trying to prioritise between food and medication and it is something we should not have to do. This is something these dogs should not have to go through.
You will see on the video, Teddy and Sukkie have lost half of their fur. Ollie and so many other dogs have eczema PLUS the papilloma virus in the mouth plus the bacterial infections. We also need things like neostamosan and ectanon to spray the rooms, the crates and the doggie houses which we do not have at the moment. We can’t let our dogs suffer.Video: Amitraz dip against Demodex for our Teddy
We have tried our very very best. We saved 56 dogs from certain death from Nis kill shelter. We are rescuing them to give them a better life and its heart wrenching as now we are struggling to provide for them! We have done some cut backs and brought the cheaper version of the medications we require but it doesn’t work as well and then we end up needing to buy more to help them.
To give you some idea; It costs approximately 600 Euros a month to give our rescued dogs the treatment they need as practically every single dog is on some type of medication and needs flea treatment. At the moment, 750 euros are needed for advantix, ivermectine shots and the cheapest antibiotics. Its way bellow the real need, but we know we will be lucky if we manage to gather at least half.
How would you cope if you saw your dog suffering with these conditions especially knowing that it could be so easily treated? We ask you.
Please. From the bottom of our hearts. Not for our sake, but for the sake of all the lives we have saved from death.
DO SOMETHING TODAY. Make a difference.
Remember, your help for one of our rescued dogs may not mean much to you but for that one dog it will mean no pain, no hurting, no tender skin, no health issues.

***OUR AUGUST FUNDRAISER FOR KENNELS AND FOOD IS RUNNING ***
Please share our YouCaring link for August kennels and food fundraiser :
The huge increase in dogs in our care has hit us financially. We have almost 100 dogs and, while adoptions continue, our intake far exceeds the number homed.
We are struggling to raise basic costs of food and shelter, which means we are failing to raise additional costs of medication and preventative treatments.
Without the generosity of our supporters we will sink under the food, kennels, and medical debt that’s accruing.
Please never underestimate the power of a single donation. Every penny adds up when combined with other kind donations. And every penny directly helps our dogs.
Together we can give them the chance of a happy life. Safe from hunger, abuse and confinement.
Without you, we can offer them nothing.
As each dog moves to their own homes, we have space to save another. And a new dog can leave behind a life of abuse and starvation.
In the Balkans, every day is filled with pain and suffering for dogs. Our recent rescue to Nis pound illustrated the horror faced by many.
The conditions were horrendous. Sadly we were too late for some. The only consolation is they felt love and safety during their last days. We are fighting hard to save many of the Nis dogs and will give every single dog the best chance of full rehabilitation.
PLEASE SUPPORT US
Our battle continues. The veterinary costs are phenomenal, but with your support we can comfort, treat and protect these dogs as they start a new journey to a happy life.
Our kennels underpin everything. Our quarantine is the basis of our integration regime following vetting. We do not cut corners. Ever. The health and wellbeing of our dogs is paramount.
Running and maintaining our own kennels allows us to offer safe haven to our dogs with a kennel manager living on site 24 hours a day.
This food and kennels fundraiser, combined with sponsor donations, covers the kennels & food for all of our dogs for August.
Our dogs were saved from horror pounds, abandonment, poisoning, or the Balkan floods. Most suffered unspeakable abuse. All are waiting and hoping for their own chance of a happy ever after.
We have rehabilitated, treated, and cared for all of our dogs from the moment they were rescued, often we are the first kindness they meet.
All dogs are vetted for behaviour and health. Illnesses and injuries are treated, and full vaccination and parasite regimes followed, to give them the best chance of adoption. We network to find safe, secure and loving homes where they can finally find peace and compassion.
But first, whilst in our care, we must provide their basic needs of shelter and food.
WE NEED YOU!
We are fully volunteer based. Our dogs rely solely on kind donator and fundraising. We are transparent and clearly demonstrate where all donations are spent in our group and warmly welcome new members and requests for information.
Please share our fundraiser. Donate if you can. Every euro adds up.
THIS MONTH’S POSTER GIRL IS GORGEOUS RUBI! THIS GENTLE GIRL IS DESPERATE FOR A FAMILY TO SHOW HER LOVE AND SECURITY

***JUNE FUNDRAISER DEFICIT***
We have entered July with a huge deficit of €397 left to raise for June’s kennel and food costs. This means we are now in an incredibly difficult financial situation going forward. We have been unable to pay all of our food costs for June, leaving us with an outstanding debt to our food suppliers. We MUST pay this money in order to continue purchasing from this supplier going forward.
IF WE CANNOT AFFORD TO BUY FOOD, WE CANNOT FEED THE DOGS IN OUR CARE
***WE DESPERATELY NEED HELP WITH OUR MONTHLY FUNDS***
Our numbers have swelled to bursting point since the recent huge rescue operations to Nis pound. We now have almost 100 dogs in our care plus 3 cats. And while we have continued to see some amazing adoptions throughout June, our intake of dogs far exceeds the number who have been homed.
The happy endings that we all enjoy reading about and celebrating are only possible with the generosity and help of our amazing supporters. Our efforts are worthless without your ongoing support and donations.
Together we can give these poor souls the chance of a normal, happy and loved life where they are safe from hunger, cold, abuse and confinement. But without you we are nothing, and can offer these sweet dogs no hope.
We are forever grateful to those who donate towards the dogs in our care, whether its funds, saleable goods, or your time. Even a simple share can be the spark that finds a new loving home for a dog.

Every day in Serbia and neighbouring countries stray animals are being abused, tortured, poisoned, burned, and killed… and the perpetrators of the crimes are never punished.
In addition, animals are also being killed systematically in kill shelters administrated by local authorities. The majority of the city shelters within Serbia employ euthanasia as the only way to solve the problem of stray dogs. But this is not regular euthenasia by lethal injection. This is brutal, barbaric, torturous killing. Once dogs are captured through cruel and brutal methods, employees of Zoo Hygiene Department, transport them in a cruel way to kill pounds. On arrival the animals are imprisoned within desolate cages without any food or water for many days to weaken them, prior to their deaths. Those who survive the starvation are then beaten and abused before suffering horrific and barbaric deaths at the hands of butchers, killers, people with no care.
These shelters receive public money from local authorities for each animal caught and impounded within the facilities. However, the funds received are not being used for any kind of basic animal care, such as food and veterinary intervention, as they were allocated. As well as being in opposition to Serbia’s own animal welfare laws, this blatant misuse of public funds should also be a cause for great concern and economic interest. Corruption is rife.
Our aim is to influence the Serbian authorities regarding animal abuse to act and sentence the abusers and public shelters who do not respect the current laws. And there are many. Our aim is Improvement of the enforcement of existing animal welfare legislation.
Our volunteers are deployed only at the tip of the iceberg. There is so so much more brutality than that we know of. In our mission, we save the most vulnerable. The ones we can find and help.
HELP US TO SAVE EVEN MORE LIVES. WE CAN ONLY DO THIS WITH YOUR HELP. WE ARE A CHARITY. WE DEPEND ON DONATIONS AND FUNDING TO DO OUR WORK!

Dogs, very hot and a bit squished in the back of the car, but we crammed as many in as we could in order to save as many as we could today. ***UPDATE DOG POUND NIS: WE ARE LEAVING TOMORROW MORNING on June 8, TO LIBERATE MORE DOGS***
Imagine if your only crime was being born in a place where those, like you, are treated like garbage. Imagine the eternal daily struggle to survive on leftovers by a trash bins. Being chased away by people without heart or compassion, beaten for no reason but simply because you exist in this place. And like all of that isn’t enough. Then one day you end up in a prison, captured by cruel people with cruel weapons, all again, for just existing. If you thought that life couldn’t get any worse you were wrong. Oh you were wrong. You are put in a cell with other prisoners to fend for food, water, the basics of existence………..You lay in the corner, huddled, frightened and starving while your strength is leaving you and your thin weakened body. Unable to move, eat, drink. You sit and wonder what have you done to deserve it, you are simply waiting to die…………..
You get weaker and weaker and just lay and wait for life to eb out of you. You pray for a quick end. The suffering is too much. Your body and mind cannot take the pain.
And then…………………a soft gentle hand reaches out to you, through the bars, and speaks soft words to you. Reassuring you that its all going to be ok. That you are not going to be left there to die in pain. Its taking you away from that living hell. That place of so much horror, death and sorrow. And the life you never knew existed, suddenly, with that one kind hand, that gentle voice, those loving, caring arms scooping you up and taking you out of your torturous cage. And suddenly, you almost disbelieve, but your new life Begins. You cant quite believe that a life filled with love, food, soft beds and safety is about to be yours. …………..
how, how can this be…………THIS IS WHAT WE DO A HUMANIMAL BALKANS. WE SAVE THOSE LIVES, WE PICK THEM UP, WE COMFORT THEIR DAMAGED SOULS, WE HEAL THEIR BROKEN BODIES, AND WE SHOW THEM HOW IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN SINCE THE DAY THEY CAME INTO THIS WORLD. Finally, they will have their chance, This is the work we do, BUT ONLY WITH YOUR HELP.
This is not a horror story, this is not some sensationalist propaganda, its very real, its very true, and it’s a very common story for the abandoned and stray dogs in Serbia. Dog pounds are places where they die. For sure, they always die. From beatings, from torture, from infections with distemper, parvo, they starve to death and become emaciated.
PLEASE BE PART OF THE SOLUTION, PLEASE DONT TURN YOU BACK AND THINK SOMEBODY ELSE WILL SOLVE THIS. YOU ARE THAT SOMEBODY ELSE, AND THE CHANCE TO HELP, IS HERE, RIGHT NOW, IN FRONT YOU. Please take that chance to help fellow suffering souls in need. PLEASE………….Today is the day you really can make a difference in this troubled world.
*** UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE ON THE RESCUED NIS DOGS ***
A quick update ladies and gents on the rescued dogs from Monday in the Nis kill shelter. All dogs so far are surviving. They are being treated (the sick ones) with a miriad of different meds, antibiotics, Dovicine, Canglob, longacef, vitamins, minerals, and a ton of different things for different conditions. However, the worst 3 who were the sickest. Avril the pit bull girl, is hanging on in there, she is being treated daily with serum for distemper and whilst she really is at deaths door, so far she is managing to hang on. We are hopeful, but its really is very much touch and go. Many thanks to Linda Mansell and Julie Ann Jarvis her sponsors for caring enough to want to sponsor poor Avril.
We really really hope and pray she will make it. Little Max the puppy with distemper is now responding really well to the Canglob for his distemper and he was even up and running around today, see pics. Many thanks to the lovely Caroline Reid for being little Max’s sponsor. And finally for Matteo, sponsored by the very kind previous adopter in our group, Alex Gregory, he too is now responding very well to his treatment, and we think he has turned a corner now. He is still painfully thin but are giving him lots of vitamins and boosters and good food to build him up and we think now that he’s through the worst. But still on daily meds to ensure he stays well and beats this disease. All other dogs are weak, starved and in poor shape, but we really are doing our utmost to ensure they all survive and get well so that we can find them the very best, loving, caring forever homes.
Thank you so much to each sponsor for helping to support and save our dogs. And to soooooooooooooo many amazingly kind people who have donated for this mission. We could never ever begin to convey our gratitude to you all for you immense kindness and compassion. GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND GOD BLESS OUR RESCUES. We continue to hope and pray for their progress. <3 <3 <3
***VERY VERY VERY URGENT FOSTER PLACE NEEDED: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CAN YOU HELP US……..CHICO IS ALREADY IN UK***
URGENT FOSTER HOME NEEDED FOR MALE DOG ***CHICO***
Through absolutely no fault of his own, our gorgeous, loving, medium sized, happy, boy Chico is looking for a new home ASAP. Unfortunately, due to his adopters deteriorating health issues, Chico’s adopter is no longer able to keep him due to her failing health. She is no longer able to walk Chico. He is a typical dog who loves his walkies, and she is currently utilising friends & relatives to help him to get basic exercise every day while we work on re-homing him for her. She is very weak due to her condition and cannot now walk him herself. Sadly, this is not a situation that will improve given time, because of her continued deteriorating condition. We really need to move this boy urgently so are appealing for a foster carer in the UK to give him a chance.
Chico is 4 years old and a very friendly boy. He came to the UK in 2013 on one of our first adoption transports. He is an extremely lovable, happy and friendly boy. He is a mixed breed, of what we dont know, but a very friendly fella. we believe. His adopter has not been able to work on training him for a long time because of her health issues. He cannot be placed with small furries, as he doesnt like cats. But he gets on wonderfully with other dogs, and also with children, Just no kitties. He’s a very intelligent and loving dog, and very affectionate indeed. He doesnt have any issues, at all, he is a happy boy, but does need a bit more training on the lead and his recall needs improvement, which is easy enough for an experienced dog owner.
Chico is an absolutely wonderful boy and will make someone very happy. He’s very keen to please. Trains well for treats. Adores cuddles and fuss, incredibly loyal, loves to get out walking, and is happy meeting everyone when he’s out. Always friendly with everybody he meets. We are looking for an existing dog friendly human, to foster him, who would be able to take Chico in and give him the chance of a home in time, whilst we continue to advertise him for his forever home. Although as we say, hes incredibly easy going so very adoptable and loving.
If any fosterers or fellow dog owners, have a place to take him for a while until we can find a forever home for him, then would be extremely grateful for your help with this situation. He is based in West Sussex, but transport can be organised within the UK to get him to a new foster carer anywhere in the UK.We would organise this. . Please help us network Chico as his situation is becoming more and more urgent as each day passes because of his adopters failing health situation. Please share Chico, and if you are interested in foster or adoption for him, please contact us at POZEGA DOGS ADOPTION PAGE. Hes just a really great dog with no issues. Thank you for your support xxx <3 <3 <3
You can also see video of him playing with his friend here: https://www.facebook.com/jade.lake3/videos/vb.556634099/10153471214454100/?type=2&theater
*** URGENT LIFE SAVING MISSION***
*** TODAY YOU CAN ACTUALLY SAVE A LIFE***
This Is a REAL emergency and is happening NOW.
The eyes of these dogs have been pleading to us all day since we found out about their plight and to leave them there is a certain death sentence. Just look at their faces and the pain they are in. They are suffering. They know its their end. We do know too many are suffering, but some of these dogs we CAN save. Their botched surgeries for spaying and neutering are also going probably to have to be redone because they’re clearly open, sore and weeping. We are also going to have to spend funds on pet taxi from Belgrade to Nis, antibiotics to ward off infection which we feel sure is probably happening.
Please, if you can find it in your heart to just send a few euros to get them out, you really actually are and would be saving a life. We are hoping to save 8 dogs on Monday. They are on the urgent PTS list hence the urgency for these eight.
We cannot save them all, but you can be some wonderful little dogs guardian Angel and give it a second chance to have a life back. Surely that’s worth more than that pair of shoes you wanted, or that new dress, or that big night out on the tiles in town. Please, we are begging for your help here to save some lives. We simply cannot do it without you.
We need a firm commitment from people who want to choose a dog to save, to sponsor that dog for a minimum of 4 months. That’s 45euros or £35 UK Pounds per month for a minimum of four months to be that dogs saviour, its lifeline, in order to give us chance to get the dog free, healthy, and find it a home. Sponsor can be paid at any point in any month so long as it keeps coming, that’s all that matters. On average each dog takes anything from 3months to 12 months to find a home. You could share a sponsorship with somebody else. If you can’t commit to minimum 4 months then please don’t ask us to save the dog because it means we cannot fund that dog after we take it out, we just don’t have the funding or resources to keep doing this. So many drop out and stop paying. Relinquish their agreement with us and it leaves us in such a mess financially, always chasing our tails and having to try to beg, borrow from other donations for other projects to keep them safe.
Also, ïf you want to sponsor or adopt a PARTICULAR dog who is not urgent, from album, please contact us.
Please understand, we simply do not have the resources to save all dogs in Serbia, there are just too many. But we can rescue some, only with your commitment to help us financially with sponsor.
We also need donations to TAKE THEM FROM NIS TO BELGRADE; CORRECT THEIR BOTCHED SURGERIES, TEST THEM FOR INFECTIOUS DISEASES (AS PARVOVIROSIS, DISTEMPER, CORONA) AND ENSURE THEY ARE INFECTION FREE, FOR THEIR CURE IF THEY ARE SICK, PLEASE send donations to our PAYPAL: firstname.lastname@example.org marked: NIS DEATH ROW DOGS.
